Join us for October's First Friday, featuring Amanda Adams of Close Call Studio.
She creates the most amazing whimsical felt pieces!
Amanda is an artist from Baltimore, Maryland who studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art. After graduation, she started her own business creating and selling handmade felt pieces, as well as a variety of other hand crafted goods. They can now be found in stores around Baltimore, as an online exclusive for Anthropologie, and now at Rala!

We love the light hearted, cozy feel of her work. She doesn't just do mushrooms & plant life, but  adorable caterpillars and snails, too!
Each piece is assembled by hand from start to finish. Amanda designs, cuts, stuffs & stitches every piece- each one is truly unique! She uses vegan friendly and recycled materials, so not only are the pieces adorable, but they're kind to the environment.
Be sure to stop by this Friday from 6-10 pm. These adorable pieces should not be missed!
 See you then!

Rala is excited to welcome back local artist extraordinaire, Bran Rogers. A true renaissance man, he does everything from puppeteering to painting!
His new body of work is about tortured poet, Edgar Allen Poe. As a unique twist, each illustration uses red wine and dirt from one of the houses Poe lived in.
Our second featured artist is Asheville based painter, Julie Armbruster. We're always enchanted by the fantastic worlds and characters she creates!

"My most recent work delves further into the imaginative world of the individual characters and their personal struggle to understand their unique potential. Often realized as human-animal hybrids, they attempt to make sense of the reality they are presented with. The characters evolve and shift seeking some sort of resolution, but they are often faced with difficulty."
Stop by Rala this Friday, September 4th from 6-10pm
and check out this wildly creative show!

Get ready, Knoxville. We've got a truly fantastic First Friday artist this month!

For the month of August, we will be proudly letting our nerd flag fly with local artist, Jon Pemberton!
A resident of Maryville, Jon makes wildly creative pop culture art work, featuring icons such as Nick Cage, Loretta Lynn (yeah, girl!), Ira Glass, and even Admiral Ackbar.

A self-proclaimed nerd, Jon says "I used to hide the fact that I may or may not be a geek, but I have come to understand that being a geek means that you are passionate about something to an extreme point. These are images of my passion, and I accept that."
We love his creative repurposing, such as turning a vintage suit case into a mini bar or a skate deck into wall art. His use of a variety of materials makes his work even more special!
Come on down Friday August, 7th starting at 6pm!
Until then, may the force be with you...
